Dr. Fein provides an overview of the principle of Floortime therapy, a therapy for children with ASD focused on promoting a child's social interest. Patrick (ASD, 3 years and 2 months) is shown during a session of Floortime therapy, narrated by his therapist, Anne-Louise Wissinger. Ms. Wissinger highlights the differents tenets of Floortime used during the session, such as following Patrick's range of interests, using circles of communication and encouraging imitation. She explains that the ultimate goal of her sessions with Patrick is to have an endless number of interactions so that he leaves with a positive shared experience of communication.
